    Student Memberships

    All Mudansha (beginning and colored belts) need to have one membership per ISGBA Family Art they are studying. If you’re studying any one art, you’d pick the Primary Membership. If you add a second, third, etc. you’d add as many as necessary to reflect the different arts you’re studying.

To ensure you’re fully equipped and recognized for each of these vital roles, you’ll select distinct memberships that unlock specific, high-value benefits for each:

    DojoCho – Primary Art: Choose this for the art you lead at your dojo. This premier membership provides you with critical administrative tools, school management resources, access to ISGBA’s DojoCho network for peer support and best practices, guidance on facility standards, and pathways for official school recognition and growth. It’s your toolkit for operational excellence.

    Instructor – Primary Art: Select this for the art you actively teach (even if it’s different from your DojoCho art, or the same). This membership grants you access to specialized instructor curricula, advanced teaching methodologies, certification and recertification pathways, liability coverage information (if applicable), and resources designed to elevate your teaching skills and impact. This is about refining your instructional mastery, and allows you to promote students under your direction with permission from your DojoCho.

    And if you’re also continuing your own journey as a student in yet another art:

    Student – Primary Art: Absolutely add this if you are also a student! This ensures you have access to the complete student curriculum for that art, official rank progression, dedicated training materials, and connection with the broader student community for that discipline. This supports your personal development and skill acquisition.

We make it easy for you to customize your membership so you can gain the full benefits and recognition for each art you study, no matter your current rank. Here’s how you can build your ideal membership path:

    If you’re a colored belt or beginner in each art:
    Simply select Student Membership – Primary Art for your main discipline, and then add Student Membership – 2nd Art, 3rd Art, etc., for each additional art you’re learning. This gives you access to tailored training materials, rank progression, and student communities for every discipline you pursue.

    If you’re a Black Belt (but not an instructor) in more than one art:
    Choose Black Belt – Primary Art for your main art and Black Belt – 2nd Art, 3rd Art, etc., for any others. This unlocks advanced rank recognition, special black belt resources, and exclusive ISGBA events in each art—demonstrating your dedication and expertise.

    If you’re a Black Belt in one art and a colored belt in another:
    Select Black Belt – Primary Art for your black belt discipline, and Student – Primary Art for the additional art(s). This ensures you receive the advanced black belt benefits where you’ve earned them, alongside comprehensive student support for your other studies.
